I am using the copy disc functionality of the Disc Creator and even when I have already placed a blank cd to the output drive, it does not recognize it. It is
asking for a cd. When I do it over again, it does something but later gives me a message that my cd is bad. I changed cd's 3 times with same result.
AND I AM USING THE CDS FROM THE SAME PACK I WAS USING PREVIOUSLY using ROXIO which I did not have this problem. i REINSTALLED the Disc
Creator program ---- same result! What is the problem ???? Why can Roxio work with my cd and not AVS Disc Creator? I am using MEMOREX printable CD-R.

Hello,

Make sure that you use the latest version AVS Disc Creator 5.0.2.516, which can be downloaded from this link.

If it does not help, please attach log files which can be found in the directory:

for Xp: c:\Documents and Settings\[you user name]\Application Data\AVS4YOU\DiskCreator\logs

for Vista, 7 - C:\Users\[your user name]\AppData\Roaming\AVS4YOU\AVSDiscCreator\logs

Best regards.

We are sorry that the path has not helped. Try installing the latest firmware for your burner and reinstall AVS software cleaning registry entries as describe here. It seems that there is compatibility issue working with Memorex CD's in our software. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused. We recommend you to use TDK or Verbatim blank discs to avoid problems.

Compatibility??? I don't understand! This was working before this happened. I was able to copy many discs with this same brand.

That is the only explanation can be if AVS Disc Creator does not work with this certain disc and other program does. If AVS Disc Creator worked earlier, please try reinstaling. AVS software following the instructions in the post above and also install the latest firmware for your disc drive. Could you please specify the model of it?

I reinstalled the AVS Disc Creator program twice from the link you gave and it still shows 5.0.1 (shown in Control Panel Add/Remove), not 5.0.2.16.
Version number does not show in Program files.

Hi groovy3130 & Vlad,

I have had a similar problem. I have a new computer, latest software & drivers, Win7 64-bit and the latest Disc Creator. I can write Music CD's and Data DVD but not Data CD's. I can write CD's with the built in Win7 BurnIso feature but not with Disc Creator. I logged a support call and was told, after supplying the log files and confirming I was using TDK CD's , that something else was accessing my CD drive - preventing CD from being written. It is a new computer and there is no other such apps installed. In any case I can write Data DVD's using the same CD/DVD hardware.

As a further test I have now installed ImgBurn and that has no problem writing CD's. Having read your posts I am starting to wonder if there is a general problem in Disc Creator with CD's. Could it be that there are not that many people writing Data CD and the issue has thus not been detected. My son also has Disc Creater on his XP machine and has no problems. Perhaps it is limited to CD's and Win7 64-bit.

Regards
Barry

Hello Barry,

The problem may be caused by the fact that drive is occupied by some other program thus AVS Disc Creator cannot access it. Please send us a screenshot of Task Manager/Processes (press Ctrl+Alt+Del).

Best regards.

I have used this disc copy with over a hundred copies made until this problem cropped up. I was thinking of using this in my other pc - laptop just to see if my drive is the problem, which i doubt very much. However, I can't do that because of your limitiing the software purchase to only ONE COMPUTER....
which means I need to pay again for what I already had paid for. This really sucks!

You can install trial version of the software on your second PC, to try burning. I would still say it the the issue with certain disc brand.

To: barrykruger

Suggest you installing firmware for your disc drive. You can download it follow this link. Yours is vSB06. Then try burning Data CD with AVS Disc Creator. If it does not help, please attach log files in zip archive.

Also, we would appreciate if you try burning Data CD with any other burning software (exactly burn Data CD feature) and tell as about the results.
