Hi
Experimenting trying to convert video_ts.ifo file to either MP4 or MKV files to play through a multimedia player and having the following problems with the evaluation s/w vs 7.1

1. Chapters are not coming across from the video_ts.ifo file iinto the mp4 or mkv files, is this normal?
2. Tried creating chapters in edit mode, chapters were created when "split" and "split by chapters" were selected but each chapter was created as a separate file, I need a single file.
3. When "split" was not selected the chapters created in edit mode were not applied to the finished files. Is this normal?

Please note the chapters work okay when playing the video_ts ifo file through the multimedia player.

So question is how do I bring the chapters across from the video_ts.ifo files or how do I have those created in edit mode apply to a SINGLE mp4 or mkv file?

ps, I need the chapters only for skipping through the movie at set intervals rather than having to fast forward/reverse etc, I do not need a menu structure.

any help greatly appreciated,
Cheers
Michael

ps ps, this is the only thing stopping me from purchasing this product, otherwise all good.

While working with DVD structure (Video_TS.IFO) file thats normal to have the video beeing splitted into chapters (episodes, seasons, tracks etc.)
mp4 and mkv formats cannot be splitted as the structure of such formats doesn't support chapters.
Please select to DVD or to BD profile if you need your file be splitted by chapters (you may create menu for BD and DVD discs)

Thankyou for the reply. That is a shame though, I have experimented with other apps and they do bring chapters across for .mkv, however yours has the best interface.

I guess I will need to look elsewhere. Thankyou.

Hi Michael,
The fact is that we create chapters that can be used in disc menu (DVD and BD structures) but not for easy skipping through the video. (you can do it while moving the cursor on seekbar)
Anyway thanks a lot for your feedback and suggestion (we encourage you to continue to let us know how we can improve our products)
Best regards!

Thankyou and what you say sounds fair.
Forgetting the "menu chapter" setup on an mkv or mp4 file, it would still be good if you could use the edit function to input chapter breaks or "markers" into these files for fast navigation function only, disregarding a menu structure.
