Simple desire: I want to fade in from black with the audio track audible. I am able to use a black overlay; however, doing so masks the text overlay (which is annoying--overlys should be stackable in any order). Is there an FAQ or video instruction on how AVS Video Editor requires its users to perform this basic transition?

I see many posts about adding a "fade-in/fade-out" widget as a feature of this software. What gives..?

Hello,

You should put black frame on main video line, not video overlay and then put Fade transition between black frame and video.

Regards.

1.Having added the file from media library to the story board, please add after your file a black colored image.
To do it, please, select "Color" in Media Library and drag&drop the needed color image to the story board.
2.Click on "Transitions",select the transition (I'd recommend "solid fade") and add it to the story board between the file and the image.
