It would be very nice to be able to choose one's own bitrates (CBR or VBR) for the video, and codec/bitrate for the audio instead of fixed presets when coverting to DVD.

For example, I would choose around 8.2 Mbps for video, and PDC or Dolby Digital (variable) or AAC version 2 or even mp3 rather than mp2 for the audio every time.

I think this is a long overdue enhancement to video converter.

Do you think this might be in future versions?

Actually, these settings are disabled in AVS Video Converter to avoid problems playing DVD's on stand alone DVD players. We offer users convert to standard DVD presets which will definitely play on such DVD player. If users adjust choose their own setting for output it can cause playback problem.

I hope it clarifies.

Regards.
