I have almost two hours of HD recording. There are no natural breaks, it is one program. Is there some logical way to split the output onto multiple DVD's or do I have to edit and same it into multiple segments first?

Unfortunately, I don't know the format of your HD recordings. But if it has mpeg2 codec, it is possible to split video to DVD's with AVS Video ReMaker. In any case, you can use this program to split your video file at first (the program does the job without re-encoding) and then convert to DVD's with AVS Video Converter.
