Hello,

We suspect that the problem is caused by the incompatibility with SP 3.

There will be some testings and we will inform you about the results.

Best Regards.

Dam,
I just had to do a complete system rebuild and had to install Windows fresh.
I upgraded all the way to Service Pack 3 before installing any AVS software.

One of the first things I did was try using Video Converter 6 as I had so many issues with it earlier.
I was able to run it without issue using SP3.

The only thing is that is does seem to be somewhat slow when converting.
I have tried using a couple of FFMPeg based converters and they seem to perform much faster.

That being said VC6 is working here under SP3.
Best

Hello,

We have also tested AVS Video Converter 6 under SP3 and that worked fine.

So, to solve the issue described in the first topic (not in the informative way though), I'd recommend to follow

Local Disc (C:)\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVS4YOU\Licence

and rename licence folder (to Licence_1 for example) and launch the software. It will turn into unregistered version. Then inform us about the result. Does it give any error?

You can also follow
Local Disc (C:)\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\AVS4YOU\Licence

And in the Licence folder choose and delete your old registration file (to detect the old file you can sort them by date) if there is one. That must solve the problem.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Well I have a major problem with AVS 6. Since the SP3 update, AVS video convertor hangs a long time and the audio is either not there or way off out of sync. In other words, it is usless to try to use it. So if there is an issue with it and the SP3 update, PLEASE find a cure soon! I love using AVS Tools and am lost without it working.

Also, running the repair tool finds that it can't load this libery: avsmobiledevice2activesync.dll

Hello,

We have tested the AVS Video Converter 6 under SP3 and that worked fine.

So, to solve the problem please make sure you use the latest version of AVS Video Converter 6 ( the latest version: 6.2.1.262, release date: 26/06/2008)

If after the reinstallation of the software the problem still remains, please give us as much information about the error as possible:
- describe your actions step by step;
- specify the format of the file you are trying to convert and its origin;
- specify to which format you convert and which presets do you select;
- specify the PC configuration.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I have had the same problem, getting an EOverflow error when trying to run the program. I've never installed the program before, so this is the first time it's been on my machine. When I tried going in and renaming the License folder, it just created a new one when I tried to launch the program. The license folder is also empty if that tells you anything.

Here are my system specs:

Windows XP Pro SP3
Intel Core2 Quad 2.66Ghz
4GB Ram
GeForce 7600 GT Video Card
Intel D975XBX2 motherboard

Also using XP SP3 and since the update when vodeo Converter 6 will for no reason I can find - No log no error reported simply disappear. Just quits in the midle of a conversion and after this occurs I can't start ANY AVS4U program without getting a message that simply states A Monitor program was found running on your system. Please remove the program from memory and try again. t takes a reboot to get any AVS4u produt to start and then eventually the cycle repeats. I've had no problem prior to installing SP3. Any Ideas? I can find no clue anywhere to this one.

I'm having trouble as well with Converter 6 and SP3. What happens to be is that the program regularly crashes while batch converting 5-6 files. There is no indication of any trouble. I can send you the crash report if you like but this is a real headache for me.

Hello,

bgnr01:
AVSMobileDevice2ActiveSync.dll wil not load on my computer

That dll does not influence the conversion process. Never mind.

So, please precise the problem you have and describe your actions step by step.

Hope to hear from you soon.

I am positively using VC6.
Dual Core, with SP3, and have no problem converting the VOB file but receive an error message: "url of file" and File Format Error.
I have tried converting several entirely different IFO files, but VC6 allows me to Browse to the IFO file (drop down for type of file is set to IFO.

I can convert the VOB into any other format but the output video is "jumpy" with voiice and video blanks all over the place.

Why will VC6 not accept the IFO file to be converted?
