Hi,
I ran into a just over 10 minute video that must be corrupt as I cannot split it and I have tried with the latest version of the editor and also the remaker and I get error message and lockup of the app. The error message is:

INTERNAL EXCEPTION E06D7363

I believe it is a corrupt video as all the other ones from the camera can be edited just fine. My question is, what utility is available to help fix or split a corrupt video so i can save it and cut out the part I want?
Thanks

I fixed it...I used the AVS Video Converter and converted it to its same file type, IE MPEG4 to MPEG4 and it fixed it right up. It went from 944MB to 724MB but I got what I needed from the video. Hope that helps someone else with the same problem...

I have a clip that is a .dv file. It plays fine in quicktime, but when I try to import into avs video editor, I get "file format error".
I tried to convert using avs converter, but the result is "conversion is complete!" and then I get a file with 0kb as size and nothing there. Please help!

Please make sure you use the latest versions of the software that can be downloaded following this link.

If the problem remains in the latest versions of the programs please upload the .dv file to our FTP server, so we could analyze the problem and give you a possible solution. You will get the instructions on how to send us the file via AVS4YOU Support System. Please use your password and e-mail to log in to AVS Support System.

I have a .mkv file that I have the intentions of converting to a .wmv file to watch it. However, when I open up Windows Explorer to select the file I wish to convert, I select it and the 'File Format Error" box is displayed.

Any ideas?

Make sure you use the latest version of AVS Video Converter that can be downloaded following this link.

Specify the origin of the .MKV file you are trying to convert and specify if it can be played on other PC Players.

Thank you for the information.

I've created avi video files with by importing various videos into AVS video editor, trimming and merging files to make one avi file. When I attempt to convert the avi file to a MPEG file I consistently get a "file format error?" what is the problem?

Hello,

Seems that your project has not been saved correctly to AVI format in AVS Video Editor, resulted avi file does not play in video players. Please reinstall AVS software following the instructions here.

Also, it is possible to save project directly to MPEG format in AVS Video Editor, see the details following this link.

Best regards.

The same problem is occuring with me too.
It's a movie downloaded through torrent. It works flawlessly with VLC Media Player.

I have tried other converters too, but wasn't satisfied, but it isn't even working with the latest version of AVS.

Please help!!!
