hi! i've seen other posts regarding the converter immediately going to 'not responding' as it has done to me for 2 days now.I did download the update and looked for the .dll file to unzip and re-copy but there are a zillion .dll files in the active x folder so which one is correct? i am trying to convert a DIVX file to burn dvd which i've had no trouble with until yesterday. As soon as you click convert it goes to 'not responding' and dat's it! helllpp?! i've got a grandaughter hangin' on this.

As the issue did not occur before, probably complete program reinstalltion might be useful:
1. Go Start> All Programs> AVS4YOU> Uninstall.

2. Go Start> Run... Print regedit in the opened window and click Ok. In the opened Registry Editor window please find and delete all AVS4YOU folders.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > AVS4YOU (delete it).
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > AVS4YOU (delete it).

3. Go Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > AVS4YOU (delete it).
Go Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > Common Files> AVSMedia (delete it).
Go Local Disc (C:)> Documents and Settings> All Users>>Application Data>AVS4YOU (delete it).

Now install the latest version again.

hi Nadin;
and tanx for the info!I'm giving it a whirl right now but there is no avs4you item in the software under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
on my system at all. maybe that's the whole bug.
Merry Christmas!

There should be. Click Start > Run... and type in regedit into this small window, then click OK. You will see a new window where registry entries can be found. Note the screenshots attached.
