Try to run AVSVideoEditor in Safe Mode using batch-file AVSVideoEditorSafeMode.bat - to clean Media Library (AVSMediaLibrary.vec file) from orphan entries (already missing media files or very long or incorrect file paths).

After difficulties I managed to put my computer in Safe Mode but it scared me and it did not have internet access in Safe Mode. Do not understand about AVSVideoEditorSafeMode.bat where do I type that. Is there an easier and simpler method to correct the error Abnormal program termination so that I can use AVS Video Editor. I am very frustrated about this issue, I nearly had an heart attack when my computer went in Safe Mode, very scary experience, did not know how to get out of it. Please can you send me a link I can use in windows to clear that error and to allow me to open the software. With many thanks.Awaiting your reply.

Sorry, but I didn't mean Windows Safe Mode, but Safe Mode for AVS Video Editor. The special batch-file AVSVideoEditorSafeMode.bat is located in the application folder for AVSVideoEditor:
for Windows 32-bit - C:\Program Files\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor\
for Windows 64-bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor\

G'day all.

I've been using the AVS suite since 2009 and now I am getting the "Abnormal program termination" error codes.

I run Win11 and I find a lot of these fixes are quite old. I've tried a few of them to no avail.

I have backed up and created countless family videos from old VHS tapes, converted music etc. etc. for years without issue.

Has anybody had the same issue running Win11 64bit?

I've added some screen shots of the errors if that helps.

Support ticket has been sent but thought I would try the forum too!

Regards

Steve

Hello,
Thank you for the information,

1) Please uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86) - 14.27.29114.

Then please completely reinstall AVS4YOU using the previous instruction. AVS4YOU will automatically install new VCRedist 2015-2019 version 14.27.29114, which contains all the required libraries. Repeat the Repairing process. This should resolve the error. Here is the instruction for uninstalling:

1. Follow this link and download the utility that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it.

2. Download the latest versions of the programs from our website.

Now install the software on your PC anew.

If the error persists, please contact us again and send us an updated screenshot of this folder after reinstallation.
Best regards!

Continued issues.

Thanks for the suggestion however I do not have Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x86) - 14.27.29114 installed on my PC before or after cleansing AVS and reinstalling.

I have attached images of the errors for the first two programs I tried to open and the list of Microsoft Visual C++ installs.

I await your next suggestion

P.S I also updated the support page I started.

Perhaps an issue with 32bit and 64bit installations!

As you can see, I have followed the help page and email I received and I still cannot use the programs.
