====================
Hello Galo,
Please accept our apologies for the delay.
Thank you for the files submitted. We have tested your files and could not reproduce the bug. However we can offer you the following solution.
To avoid the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:
1. Go Start> All Programs> AVS4YOU> Uninstall.
2. Go Start> Run... Print regedit in the opened window and click Ok. In the opened Registry Editor window please find and delete all AVS4YOU folders.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > AVS4YOU (delete it).
HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE > AVS4YOU (delete it).
3. Go Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > AVS4YOU (delete it).
Go Local Disc (C:) > Program Files > Common Files> AVSMedia (delete it).
Download the latest version of AVS Video Editor from the link below:
http://avs4you.com/Downloads/AVSVideoEditor.exe
Now install the program anew on your PC.
Please download the attached zip archive, unpack it and save AVSDVDFile3.dll in the directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX replacing the old one Then run AVS Video Editor and work with your video. There should not be problems with sound.
Please inform me about the results.
Best regards.
====================
The wierd thing about it is that I had originally tried to uninstall and re-install Video Editor using the stand alone download, yet it did not work for me (see my original email). But when I did it as they instructed (going into regedit, and also replacing the .dll file) it worked.
For me, I originally installed all their AVS applications via their all-in-one installation package. So when I uninstalled Video Editor as per their instructions and deleted the top folders in the regedit - HKEY's section, then replaced the .dll file - it somehow affected the other applications. So I had to reinstall the all-in-one installation package, but instructed it not to reinstall the Video Editor (since I just reinstalled it per the support teams instructions). It worked and the other applications were back to being ok.
I suggest just uninstalling the Video Editor, then download it again and reinstall. Then follow the path to replace the .dll file (copy and paste - replace existing file). Try this first and see if this fixes it. Otherwise do it as instructed above, but you may have to reinstall any other AVS applications you have.
Good luck and pos your results for other to see.
(See attached .dll file they sent me below)
Regards,
Galo
