This is my first time to play around with the AVS video editor, and I am having some problems. When I save the finished project, the video is jerky. So far I have tried saving the video in all four formats - avi, mpg, wmv and mov and in several different video sizes. So far I have saved the movie to about 6 different formats, and all of them have been jerky.

The video was filmed with a Canon SX20 IS, which records in a high definition (1280 x 720 pixels) .mov format. The video files were imported straight into the AVS video editing software, with no inbetween converting or editing.

Here are my computer specs:
Windows XP Pro 32 bit
AMD Athlon II X4 620 2.6Ghz AM3 CPU - quad core CPU
2 gigs Corsair XMS2 PC6400 DDR2 800MHz memory

The video files are stored on an external USB hard drive
The finished video file is being saved to an internal SATA drive

Hi, since I seem to be having the exact same issue, could you get back to me with the fix as well? (Files from GoPro HD...the play fine on the PC through Media Player or whatever, but I can't seem to find a way to save a movie flie from the project without it getting all choppy...tried all kinds of formats and settings...).

I am also having this problem. Also high contrast photos flicker while they are being displayed, especially as DVD (NTSC) output in the highest output quality. What can I do about these problems? Thanks!

Im also having the same issue with choppy video, when the input file is MP4 720.

Like other users mention I have tried to save the videos in a number of formats, all with the same choppy look.

You mention a solution a number of times. Please, could I also have it.

Here are the .dlls which should help you to resolve the problem when converting QuickTime files (encoded with H.264 codec). Unzip the archive and save the .dlls to C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX
If you are asked whether you would like to overwrite the existing .dll, click on Yes.

Then run the Repair utility in order to register the .dlls:
1. Close AVS Video Converter and all other running programs and applications.
2. Next follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.

If any issues after saving the .dlls persist do not hesitate to report them.

Do you create a slideshow in AVS Video Editor? Could you attach an example of such a picture.

you guys should have at least test out every single thing before even distributing out the franchise...its kinda bad and waste people's money on something that can't even work right..PS: even movie maker has a smoother output..

Dear user,

The problems with playback of the video on the output may be connected to wrongly selected output parameters.

Please try to select the input frame rate, frame size and bitrate for the output, to do it and the check the input file parameters please press the Advanced button after selecting the format.

Inform about the result please.
