I rip my movies with AnyDVD, and use DVD Shrink (without compression) to get only the main movie and just the 5.1 channel audio. I then use AVS Video Editor to cut out portions - like the FBI warning and the credits. I don't do anything with the audio when I'm editing. After I author and burn and play a disk, I notice that the audio is only 2 channel. Am I doing something wrong, or does AVS only support 2 channel audio?

Unregistered Version - When converting an .MKV DTS 1080P file to Blu-Ray, the input side has DTS, but the out put side does not. When I burned the DVD to try it out, the video did not have DTS. Is the program crippled in this area until Registered? I would like to see if the Author could implement where it would tell you what the input Audio is, instead of 1. 2. 3.. Thank you

Recent buyer of the AVS package, I'm trying to use AVS Video Remaker with a HD Doby Digital .TS file (coming from a sat recording).

The software recognize the audio stream as a 6 channel stream (video recognized as H.264 / AVCHD) but when editing is over and trying to save my new file the only audio option I have is LPCM which will result in a 2 channel audio stream... How can I rebuild my stream (M2TS + audio) without losing channels ?

We advise you to use AVS Video Editor:

Unfortunately, the software is not able to keep 6 channel sound.But you can have video with 5.1 sound.The multichannel sound can be set for files that are being converted to .wmv, .mp4, .avi, .mov and .flv formats.
Click Advanced, in the Audio Codec section choose PCM or MPEG 2/4 audio codecs and in the Channels drop-down box select 3/2+LFE 5.1 Surround if available.

It's annoying, is there any way to change the profiles while converting an MKV file to Blu-Ray format using AVS Video Converter?

Im posting this question because the audio output is always at LPCM Stereo.

That's annoying given the source being a DTS/AC3 format (6 channels) audio format!

Unfortunately, the only available audio codec for the output Blu-ray video is LPCM (Stereo) and the settings cannot be changed.

However, AVS Video Converter makes possible to create videos with multichannel sound for some other formats (if they support PCM or MPEG 2\4 audio). For example, if you select To AVI, you will be able to create videos with multichannel sound.

Click the Advanced button and switch to the Conversion options tab. In the Audio Codec section choose PCM (MPEG 2\4) and in the Channels drop-down box select 3/2+LFE 5.1 Surround if available -> Convert Now!

I am evaluating this software and leaning heavily towards purchasing it, but I did have one question about audio. It seems my only option for audio output is 2-channel stereo, even if the original source file(s) are 6 channel. Is this because I am just still in the evaluation period? I'll attach a pic showing all the fields that are grayed out for me currently.

I just purchased the software after vetting the video options. I never expected the audio to be crippled with no DTS or AC3. Who would create a blu-ray with stereo audio? This is very odd for what looks like very good video conversions. I'm afraid I have to ask for a refund.

I found that this software is completely useless for working with audio. If you are into silent movies, this software is fine. Need audio? Look elsewhere. Good thing I was able to check this before buying. Support is pretty much useless as well.
