when converting files saved as windows media player files from hdd drive mp3 format the message file format error appears on so many of the files I try to convert
Do these files end with .wma extension? Make sure they are not copy-protected: right-click one of the files and open Properties > License.

sweet54:
also the same message comes up when converting from a CD
Please use Add from CD option in order to convert from audio CDs.

Best regards

Hello,
I've downloaded AVS Audio Converter so I can change my WMA files to MP3 so i can make CD's for my car and to put them on my phone... But every time i try to add a WMA file it keeps saying 'One or more files were opened with an error'....Why?.. There not Copy-right protected, I've clicked on Properties, and the Licence section is blank....for example one song is called Gazzilion Ear so when i click add file It'l come up with a red x next to it....whats going on? Iv tried the renaming trick....didnt do anything. I'v watched your video on how to convert and its nothing like it is when i open AVS, the covert button isn't even highlighted! Basically I downloaded AVS 3 hours ago and I've been busting my brain trying to figure it out....The only thing you have done for me is give me a raging headache, put me in a horrible mood and wasted my time on my first day off from work in 3 months. Sorry for being arsey about this but its seriously stressed me out!

I would be very very very very very grateful if some guidance and help was at hand.

We are sorry about the problem you have encountered using our software.

Could you please attach one of such wma files opening which you get error, so that we could test it? Please attach the file in zip archive.

Regards.

I have the same issue with not being able to convert my wma files. They are NOT protected yet I still get a file error. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the only reason I bought this software. I have attached a file for example.

Hello,

Thank you for the file attached. It is protected and asks for the license even to play on computer in windows media player. Unfortunately, our software does not allow to convert copy-protected files. In Properties>License it is also shown Protected Content. I assume the license is downloaded to your computer, that is why you do not have it in Properties.

Best regards.

Ufortunately, not. The file still stays drm protected and our software cannot handle it. Sorry indeed for the inconvenience.

Hello,

Please make sure you don't use the copy protected file. AVS4YOU software is not able to process copy protected files. Please zip the file and send it to us.

Best regards.
