Thank you for your feedback. We are working hard on this issue at present. However, at the moment it is possible to maintain AC3 audio when converting to WMV only. It can be done by setting channels to All in Profile Editor of the program. As for the other formats, we are planning to support AC3 audio within future releases of the program only.

hi

I am using AVS Video Converter 6

Is there any way to retain AC3 audio with it when you convert? It seems to want to change to stereo pcm, or mp3. FFMPEG allows a '-audio copy' function to retain and resync audio.

Also, does this program support a command line interface?

Are there any plans to include DTS or AC3 support in the video converter or editor? I could really use these.

I bought the package thinking this would be turned on, But there isn't an option to use it only stereo or mono. The audio of my AC3 videos come out with very low voice audio. The music over rides the voice audio. The voice audio in in the center channel.

I have many hours converting all my DVD's to Xvid with AC3 audio to play in my PS3. I wanted to use the AVS video editor to clean them up. Better picture and color.

Without DTS or AC3 the program is useless to me. My home theater has DTS 8 speaker setup so stereo (2 channel) is so crappy sounding.

Please note the posts above. It is not possible to convert videos with AC3 or DTS audio at the moment, but we hope to implement these options in future.

Hello,

It will be very fine if you include multi channel audio support in AVS Video Converter. Currently it supports sterio audio, But it is useless when ripping 5.1 cannel DVD videos. Please..

Waiting for your reply..

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately for now we can not tell you when multichannel audio support will be available.

Thought I would also add my surprise and disappointment to this thread - No support for AC3/multi-channel audio for conversionin AVS Video Converter is a major deficiency in the product that I failed to notice when I purchased!

Can we get a rough ETA please?? This month? This year? This has been outstanding for a long time now, based on this thread - should I just ask for a refund, or should I wait?? I need 6-channel support - I create movies in Cyberlink PowerDirector (5.1 DTS Surround) and then convert to my delivery formats, so AVS is not useful to me if this isn't fixed soon!

Thanks

Hello,

Unfortunately, we don't plan to support AC3 audio in the nearest future. We are sorry if it may be of any inconvenience.

Best regards.

OK, you don't plan on supporting AC3 in the near future :-(. What is the ETA on the command line / script capabilities. Are you currently work on that, or is this also waiting on your pending list?

Regretfully, we also do not plan to create command line interface for our software. Are programs are basically intended for home users.

Regards.

P.S. please do not post offtop. The topic about command line tool is here.

Also, in these forums, how does one subscribe to a thread without responding to it?

Unfortunately, we do not plan to support AC3 for output in AVS Video Converter as yet. We are sorry if it may be of any inconvenience. I have already mentioned it in the topic.

Guys,
The fact that they didn't add it to the new version clearly shows they never plan on supporting it. Lesson learned, time to move on.

We are sorry to get such negative feedback. At least, we were honest and posted in the topic that we do not plan to support it.

HI , ac3 is a extremelly hard to work with as it is a highly compressed multistream audio 2 4 6 7 8 streams etc , not to mention the problems arising
with ntsc to pal conversions .
i have worked with avi files for about 14 years now using lots of programmes .

1 . Converting from ntsc to pal the easiest way to get ac3 audio into a divx or xvid file is to fully decompress the ac3 stream into wav etc.
( usually take 6 to 7 gig HDD space ) either stretch the file or shrink the file then recompress the ac3 and re mux it into the video track using
virtual dub or something similar. ive been using virtualdub for avi and mkvmerge for mkv files only the remuxing side .
Ive found that AVS's video and audio conversion A1 maybe oneday in the future ac3 conversions will be easier.

2. If when you extract the ac3 file it needs no recompression load the two files ito virtualdub and direct stream copy .

Ive found that AVS's video and audio conversion A1 maybe oneday in the future ac3 conversions will be easier.
I would love to see multi stream MP3 :)
:)

Thank you for sharing your experience.

Have not heard about multi-stream MP3... Do you mean that some developers should invent such audio?
