Hello,
if i try to convert docx (Word 2013) to EPub AVSDoC crash during "open file operation"
The doc contains 646 pages.=-O

if try with a part of original doc crash disappears. :-D

Is number of pages a problem?

The problem persist if a document is a .DOC (word2003/2007*DRINK*)

Since the file is 646 pages, you also want to make sure that the source file is saved on the same directory as AVS.

Please, try the newer version of AVS Document Converter - 3.0.3 or 3.1.1. The memory usage during file opening and conversion was enhanced since version 3.0.3. Now it supports up to 4 GB of virtual memory for process in 64-bit Windows and up to 3 GB of virtual memory for process in 32-bit Windows.
