Hi
I have experienced problems when editing 1080HD files I've recorded. to make story short, when I load the AVI file and play it AVS Editor it hangs after few seconds, then continues, then stops and so on.
When 720 files are loaded they work fine.
My workaround is converting from 1080 to 720 and then editing...
tried to use with and without cache - same

The CPU Util ~95% is probably the cause but is there a way to fix this? after all, PC specs meets the requirements.

My PC specs are
Windows7 Pro SP1 x64
HP Compaq 8000 Elite CMT PC
8G RAM and Pentium Dual-Core CPU 3.20GHz
Graphic card is GeForce 8400GS

please advice

I've seen some instances in the past that GeForce Card is the culprit. Can you check if you have the latest drivers installed? You might want to go to their site and check for updated ones.

I have the latest driver. in fact this is a new installation of the display adapter. i previously used the embedded adapter and suspected it to be the reason so I found a new GEForce and installed it.

Hi and thanks for your reply
I have removed/restart/installed as needed. No change whatsoever

I can see some slight and non significant improvement when i change the cache settings, but still, video streaming is lame slow and stops every few seconds.

thanks for your reply

:
- describe your actions step by step;

I load an AVI file to AVS EDITOR and simply click on PLAY to play it. the movie then stops every few seconds then continue and so on.

:
- specify the format of the file you are trying to convert and its origin;

An AVI files recorded on a bike cam using 1080 format.

:
- specify to which format you convert and which presets you select;

The main problem is with AVS Editor.

:
- attach a screenshot of your PC configuration

Dear User,

Thank you for the information provided.

To avoid this problem, please try the following:

1) Switch off “Show line groups" option, please follow Edit > Settings > Edit and unmark the “Show line groups" option;
2) Switch off “Show sound waveform” option, please follow Edit > Settings > Edit and unmark the “Show sound waveform" option;
3) Deactivate Intel Media Codecs, please follow Edit > Settings > Processing > Intel Media and choose the “Disable” option;
4) Please follow Edit > Settings > General > Preview and choose the preview quality "Low (Fastest)". Note that this option affects the video preview only and does not in any way affect the quality of the output video.
