I am trying to recode a 16:9 video to a lower bit rate. Source is 1920x1080 38810kps 29.97fps. Trying to convert to 15000kps, same frame rate and resolution. Result appears to be a letterboxed 4:3 format video. In the Aspect Correction window, I see the video presented in a 4:3 screen with grey bars top and bottom. Input Video Aspect Correction indicates 16:9 and I've tried this with "Original," "16:9," and "Custom." Output ratio is set to 16:9. In the past, when I saw grey bars, they weren't actually part of the output picture but now they seem to be affecting the output. I've tried opening the video created by AVS Video Converter and it reports that the video is 16:9. But any video player or other video editor I try displays it as letterboxed 4:3 -- even the thumbnail in Windows file explorer shows it as 4:3. Any ideas?

Dear user,

Please send us the screenshot of the Aspect correction tab of AVS Video Converter Advanced settings - the way it was set before you converted your video and after importing the file into the application.

Thank you for cooperation.

Kind regards
