Hey,

I'm trying to convert a MKV file to AVI, after purchasing the license, and I get a File Format Error when I try and load the source file. Any help would appreciated.

Thanks

Dear user,

Please specify the program you use and its version.

Do you have any problems with any other files of the same and different format?

Can you playback the file your are trying to convert on any of your PC players without any problems?

Thank you for the information.

Kind regards

Hi... I'm having the same issue.

I'm using AVS 8.5. Trying to open .mkv files to convert to .mp4, but when I try open the file on AVS I get the message:

"The Following errors occurred while opening files:
File.mkv - File format error."

The weird thing is that I already converted some .mkv files. When trying those again they open normally.

IMPORTANT thing is... The files are NOT corrupted in any way. I'm made sure of.

The .mkv file is encoded with H264+AAC 10bit...

Now thinking... I think that only 10 bits mkv files are giving this error, as 8 bits not, but I'm not sure.

If you can help me, I would appreciate.

Thank you.
