I am not really sure how to approach this one. I have an .mkv movie over 9 gigs long. I want to convert it to DVD format without shrinking it down to one DVD or making 2 DVDs. If I were to convert it to 2 DVDs, is there a way to combine the .vob files to make a large DVD. Generally the .vob files are around 15 minutes or so. Can they be made larger so I would have the usual 4 .vob files in the DVD. I have tried shrinking it to one DVD but it did not convert the entire movie. I have also converted it once to .AVI format but the media player I am using puts a "question mark" in front of it in the menu and will not play it. Any suggestion will be helpful. Thanks. Tim.

Dear Tim,

You need to convert your .mkv file to DVD video and burn it to a disk using AVS Video Converter:
http://onlinehelp.avs4you.com/AVS-Video-Converter/Features/Converting/Discs/DVDs/BurningDVDs.aspx

If you add several .vob files to your disk, your media player might not be able to playback them as a whole video either.

Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you.

Kind regards
