Hi! I'm new here, so forgive me if this topic has been covered before. (I can't find it in 'Search') Basically, I've recorded a film on my Humax Foxsat machine and copied it on to my memory stick as a .TS file at a little over 2 Gb. Using AVS to convert it to either .AVI or burn a DVD I can't get the projected size down to less than about 20Gb, whatever settings I nominate. The first (default?) setting I encountered suggested I'd need 27 disks to capture the file. Something's obviously very wrong, and I'm probably missing a dead obvious trick here. Is there a definitive guide out there which I could use to achieve my aim on a single disk?
Secondly, I've tried other programs to convert this.TS file, but all have omitted the audio track; hence, no sound! If I use AVS correctly, will I have the audio track intact, and what should I do to ensure this.
2 big asks, I know, but I'd be real grateful for any help, as I have other programs on my hard drive I'd like to burn.
Thanks in anticipation.

To clarify here, which presets did you use here? Can you please list all of them?

Dear user,

Please specify if the .TS files you are trying to convert, can it be played without any problems on your PC players?

Can you playback the file in AVS Video Cobnverter preview by clicking on the Edit button on the top toolbar without any problems?
martcaster:
whatever settings I nominate

Please send us the screenshot of the Advanced settings - Conversion options tab after importing .TS file into AVS Video Converter and selecting the profile you used (see the screenshot attached).

Thank you for the information.

Kind regards.
