and only with MOV files. i am running the most updated version of AVS on win 7 home edition. editing is fine on any other format, even avchd camera files, but with mov files, the larger the file is, the longer AVS hangs. every time i try an edit, or even click on the video, it takes up to 5 minutes for the edit to finish.

are there any tips to speed up AVS in windows 7? why just the issue with MOV files? i have a POV helmet cam that records in MOV format. will i need to convert it first?

thanks in advance

Dear User,

Conversion is a rather complicated process and it depends on the size of the file (length, bitrate, frame rate, frame size), your PC configurations, and what other applications are running at the moment of convertion.

Your cam is an HD one and I suppose the files recorded on it are even heavier than those from AVCHD, that is why AVS application hangs for a while.
I recommend you to close all other applications on your PC while converting HD files.
If you use AVS Video Editor it will cashe the HD files first to a temporary folder, then it will be easy to work with them.
If you use AVS Video Converter, it is possible to choose the convertion priority - see the screenshot attached.

Kind regards
