Sorry in my previous post, the title is wrong, it is about the latest version of Video Convertor, not the editor.

I am using the Video Editor to burn my edited videos into a DVD. After having just updated to the latest version of Video Convertor. I found I almost lost all the functionalities for creating and editing chapter menus. Eg. it is a lot more difficult to select the chapter from the time line, there is no changing of the chapter titles. All and all the user interface is a big backward step.

Also there are less selections for the main menu, no music selection, no other animation selections, and the same old backgrounds are no longer available. What is this? Upgrading can not mean going backward in such a big step to functionalities and user interface?

I have reinstalled a very old version of Video Convertor, but lost my last version before the upgrade, I hope this works ok.

Am I doing something wrong?

Any comments or sharing of experience is most appreciated.

cheers
Nat

Dear User,

Fuctionality was not reduced in none of the new versions of AVS4YOU software.

To avoid the problem please try to reinstall the software following the steps described on this webpage.

Inform about the result, please.

Kind regards.

You know what !

I did not do what you asked for, because, the problem is not a bad installation, the user i/f is totally different, but works.

I used the AVS Navigator to check updates for me, and it prompty advised and I agreed for to upgrade Video Convertor. It downloaded 6.4.3.419 instead of the latest version 8.3.1.530, which I now downloaded directly from the web and it is working fine.

So the questions is, for the support guys to find out why the navigator update checker can download a much older version instead of the latest !!!!

Furthermore, the Navigator still launches the old 6.4.3.419, but the desktop icon lauches the newly installed version 8.3.1.530

How do I reset the Navigator to launch the new version? And also how to get rid of the old version clearnly, without damaging anything else?

Dear User,

The problem with AVS4YOU Software Navigator may be caused due to the fact that its version is quite old.
In the past AVS4YOU Software Navigator used a different model of updating the software.

We appreciate your understanding and still need to ask you to reinstall the software using the given instructions to avoid further problems with functionality.

Thank you for cooperation.

Kind regards.
