Hi,

I am able to import videos and graphics, and pretty much do all the functions, until I attempt to edit an overlay. The program becomes immediately unresponsive and I have to force it to close. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling - still have the same problem.

Please help!

Thanks!

Hello,
To avoid the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Go Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Uninstall. Please make sure to click the "Check All" button.

2. Follow this link and download the utility
http://support.avs4you.com/GetFile.aspx?DocumentID=168498-647
that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it. It is highly recommended to leave the default option "Delete license key-files" checked.

3. Download the latest versions of the necessary programs from our website:
http://avs4you.com/downloads.aspx
Now install the software on your PC anew.

If it does not solve the issue please contact us again and specify your PC configuration (OS, CPU, Ram).

Best regards.

Ok - I uninstalled and reinstalled and still have the same problem with editing overlay. But now as soon as I click on the image or on "edit overlay", the program gets stuck (before, it got stuck as soon as I started actually editing the overlay).

My PC config is:
OSS: Windows 7
CPU: Intel Core i7
RAM: 8 GB

Please help!

Thanks!

I am having the same issues with crashing while trying to edit an overlay. What even pisses me off more is my AVS crashes while I save HD files. I have a project I have been working on for two months that's 55mins long and it crashes while at about 50% rendered.

Hello,

Please repair AVS files:

1. Close all AVS programs and other running applications.

2. Follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.

If some of the .dlls are not registered, please make a screenshot of the Repair window showing those files and send it to us.

If the issue persists, please describe it in more detail so that we help you to avoid it:
- specify what files you work with in the program (format, origin);
- specify whether the files playback correctly in players on your PC and on Preview in AVS Video Editor;
- specify whether the program crashes when working wih all files (formats) or only with some of them;
- specify what antivirus/ firewall software you use;
- specify whether you use two graphics cards.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards.

Hi,

I did the repair, 100% complete.

Started up AVS, same problem.

- I've tried with all sorts of files, .avi, .jpg. It doesn't matter what type of file it is - when I try to edit the overlay, no matter what format it is, the program crashes.
- Yes - the files playback correctly in players on my PC and on Preview in AVS Video Editor. As long as I don't try to edit an overlay, the program works.
- Yes, the program crashes when I attempt to edit an overlay in any file format.
- McAfee
- Yes, I have 2 graphics cards (built-in that comes with CPU, and another one).

Lisa

Hello,

To resolve the issue please try disabling the second graphics card in Device Manager.

To do it, click right mouse button on My Computer and open Properties, find Device Manager and run it.

In Device Manager find Display Adapters and disable the seond card via context menu.

Then try running AVS Video Editor.

Best regards
