I wanted to know if AVS has any special after effects features? Or movie intro effects. Or if someone can direct me on how to get them for AVS?

If you want to get  a video to fade in and fade out with the help of AVS Video Editor, you can achieve the needed effect by doing the following:
 
- select a black color frame from the Backgrounds section of the Media Library and drag this frame to the Timeline. Place it at the beginning/at the end of your video clip;

- add a transition between the video and the color frame (for example, Fade Solid effect);

- then you can change the duration of both the transition and the color frame if necessary.
