Hello,

I would like to know if there is a simple way to make transitions using the very last image of the video instead of using a part of the video itself. There is not always some useable part at the beginning or end of a video for the transition itself.
I tried different workarounds to make this, but it's a real hassle for a such simple effect. I used to create an image of the start (or end) of the videos and add it to the timeline, but it's not always possible. The snapshot function always generates the same size (800x450 pixels) which does not match the video itself, so the video to image junction is visible.
I've tried with more success the "freeze" function, but it's not always available and it has the irritating behaviour of saving the image in the temporary directory with a generic name. It would be much much better, for example, to save the images into the same location than the video itself with the name of the video and the time location added as a post-fix (like "MyVideo-12.34.56.png").I have to create the snapshot, copy it into the project directory (which is in a server, not the working machine), removing the image part in the time line and re-creating it by hand with the new image (with paying attention to make it in the right order, else the application crashes if the original image has been removed before removing the sequence in the timeline). So much for a very simple task ! In fact, these transitions took 80% of the editing time !

Apart from that, I'm very happy with this software.

I simply mean using the very last image of the video n-1 and the very first image of the video n and make the transition between them. Currently, the transitions are done using the last seconds of the end of video n-1 and the first seconds of the video n.
This means that the transistion is done with fixed images from the two videos around it.

When I say video, it's in a broad sense. It means the objects surrounding the transition; that could be a text, a picture or whatever. These are rendered, at the end, a portion of the final video.

Hello,

You can change the duration of the transition to achieve the desired result.
Here you can find more detailed guidelines.
