Hi guys I did try a search but this forum is so big

I don't have a problem I just would ask your advice.
Which format to save or convert a file to for best quality playback on a PC ie. not going on a disc/DVD etc..(other than uncompressed AVI)....disc space is really not an issue for me I just would like to preserve as much quality as poss from my DV camcorder

I have tried reading articles but is all just jargon and soon bogs down into " blah blah blah blah "
Anyone have a down to earth, common sense, easy to follow reply?

Thanks

John

The best format if you ask me, would be quicktime MOV, H.264 1080p (30 frames), 15 Mbps bitrate.

Anything above 15 Mbps will not yield additional quality (or if it's there it's not noticeable).

Hello,

Please note that using the latest version of AVS Video Converter you are able to convert videos to any available formats. Also you can try modifying advanced settings for the output file in order to keep the settings of your original video. You can create the HD (.mov, .avi etc.)

Best regards.

Hi John. In my experience, all formats works good on a PC. It also depends on the player that you use. But MP4 and MKV are my favourite when it comes to quality.
