My computer knowledge is somewhat limited, but I have been using Video Conversion for awhile now with no problems. Suddenly and without warning everytime I try to convert a file I get an error message stating "Can not create file. Probably your output file has a read only attribute, or it is occupied with another application." I get this message every single time, even on files that I have previously converted. Can anyone help?

Hello,

Make sure you use the latest version of AVS Video Converter 8.1.2.510:
http://download.avs4you.net/distributives/AVSVideoConverter.exe

To solvethe issue Please make sure that the folder you've chosen as an output one doesn't have a "read-only" attribute: right click on the folder you select for the output <Properties> - <General>. Please uncheck the line for "read-only", press "Apply" and then "Ok".

Or try to select another output folder on the HDD and convert the file again.

If the problem repeats please open your file in AVS Video Converter and make a screenshot of the program window <Advanced> - <Conversion Options> and send it to us. Please also attach a screenshot of your PC configuration: right-click My Computer, choose Properties, make a screenshot of the General tab.

Best regards

I have done as you requested to no avail. My video files are in the same folder that they were in when the program was working for me. I have noticed that the "read-only" attribute is checked. I uncheck it, press "Apply" and "OK." The box is no longer checked, but when I return to the folder's properties once I leave; it is checked again. I am attempting to incllude the screenshots you asked for. Thanks so much for the help.

Hello,

To avoid the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Go Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Uninstall. Please make sure to click the "Check All" button.

2. Follow the link below and download the utility that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it. It is highly recommended to leave the default option "Delete license key-files" checked:
http://support.avs4you.com/GetFile.aspx?DocumentID=168498-647

3. Download the latest versions of the necessary programs from our website:
http://avs4you.com/downloads.aspx
Now install the software on your PC anew.

If it does not solve the issue please contact us again and specify your PC configuration.

Best regards.

Hello,

In order to solve this problem please repair AVS files:

1. Close all AVS programs and other running applications.

2. Follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.

If some of the .dlls are not registered, please make a screenshot of the Repair window showing those files and send it to us.

Try to provide some additional information about the error:

- describe your actions step by step;

- specify the format of the file you are trying to convert and its origin;

- specify to which format you convert and which presets you select;

Best regards.
