When I insert splits in a video I always use the keyframe button to position where the split should be. But when I do that the keyframe to the left always seems to get included in what is rewritten. If I move the split one keyframe to the right, then mark the split it seems to work okay. I know that the split has to be on a keyframe or it looks back left until it finds one, but I assumed that using the keyframe button would put it in the right place. VERY annoying, as I had to go back through about 20 clips and resplit them again. And if you compare the file size
original - 313,646
bad split - 313,326
good split - 313,024
the difference is the distance from one keyframe to the other.

SO, just remember, always eat one extra keyframe and you'll be better for it :-P

And so you don't think I'm a whinner, I LOVE VideoRemaker ..... I just encoded 50 hours of video tape, and have at least that much more to go. AWESOME !

Hello,

Please note, video files splitting can be done based on keyframes only. In this case when you put the cursor at the Timeline and click the Split button the split point will be moved to the left nearest keyframe. To navigate through the keyfarmes use the Previous Keyframe and Next Keyframe buttons of the Preview Area.

Best regards.
