I created a .srt (subtitle) file for a .avi (video) file using a seperate freeware program called SubEdit323.

I attempted to create subtitles for the video using the AVS Video Converter.
I clicked on the <<advanced tab of AVS Video Converter and went to the drop down box under video that said subprogram.
I clicked on the 1 choice other than none - track 1.

When I put chapters in the disk using the AVS Video Converter, the preview of the movie showed subtitles in white.
I burned the file to DVD using the AVS suite.

When I viewed the burned DVD on my DVD, there were no subtitles.
Does anyone know what I can do?

Hello,

Please specify whether there are subtitles when you play back the DVD on your PC. Please zip your subtitles and send the to us. Specify the model or your DVD player.

Best regards.

Hi, Lex.
Thanks for responding.

I tried to play the burned DVD on my computer using Media Player 12. No subtitles.

My DVD player: Magnavox DP100MW8B.

FWIW, my TV: SONY Wega Trinitron model: KD-27FS170.
This is not a digital TV.

I hope this helps you to help me.
Thanks, Mark.

Hal, in case you don't know this, you'll need a special program (I use Windows Word) to view the .srt file.

I've already sent the zipped version of the .sub subscript file - the file that has the .rar ending.

I'm not at my personal computer right now.
I will zip and send the .idx and .srt subscript files later today (Wednesday, Feb.22) , when I'm at my personal computer.

Thanks, Mark.

Hi Lex. I don't know why I named you incorrectly. I'm sorry.

Here are the 2 other subscript files, the .idx file and the .srt file.

Hello,

We have tested your srt subtitles. They are shown on a PS as well as on a hardware player. Try to use daum pot player. Please install K-Lite Codec Pack. Than follow Start/All programs/K-Lite Codec Pack/Tools/Media Info.
Run the Media Info import the original video and send us screenshot with the generated information.

Best regards.
