Hallo,

I bought AVS4YOU last year in october. My PC was running on XP. I have now upgraded to Windows 7 (64bit) and I cannot open my previous project anymore?
The program gives the message it cannot find the files anymore.

Also the "Text" (AVS video editor) does not work anymore:
All the different templates seem to be dissapeared (only a black window). (see attachement)
When I open the sample project, all text is dissapeared in the movie.

I have re-installed AVS editor as described on the website (including cleaning the Registry), but the problem is still there.

Anyone an idea of what i can do?

Greetings

Philippe.

Hello Philippe,

Please note that project files do not contain the actual video, the only contain the links to the media files you used in your projects. It is strongly recommended not to change the location of the media files used in your project while working on it. If one of the media files was removed, replaced or renamed, you will see the File Not Found notification in the Media Library. when you reopen the project you receive the following message: "Can't find file "File Name" with three options: Ignore, Ignore All and Browse...

If you know where the file is located, press Browse... and find this file on your PC.

In order to solve the issue with Text preset please remove the follwing folder c:\Documents and Settings\{USERNAME}\Application Data\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor\Profiles\Title.

Best regards.

Thx for your reply,
indeed the directory structure for Win 7 is different from the XP dir structure.

But the file c:\Documents and Settings\{USERNAME}\Application Data\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor\Profiles\Title. does not exists in Win7. I have deleted the file
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor\Profiles\Title
but this does not change anything. It is still the same (see attachements) and it creates again the directory Title.

Neither helps deleting the file C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor\Profiles\Title: when you delete this directory there are no templates anymore under Text Menu of the program.

Any help or suggestion is welcome,

Greetings
Philippe.

Hallo,

Following menu's seems to work:
Media library: I can import films & photos
Transitions: ok (I see the different templates)
Video effect: ok (I see the different templates)
Text: it seems that the templates are gone. (See attachement): in the printscreen you see that for all the different templates the text has gone.
I can place a template of text in the boxes below for video editiong. If I open it to modifiy the Text, i get a back square and no text is visible (see 2-nd attachement).

Greetings
Philippe.

Hello,

To avoid the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Go Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Uninstall. Please make sure to click the "Check All" button.

2. Follow the link and download the utility that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it. It is highly recommended to leave the default option "Delete license key-files" checked:
http://support.avs4you.com/GetFile.aspx?DocumentID=168498-647

3. Download the latest versions of the necessary programs from our website:
http://avs4you.com/downloads.aspx
Now install the software on your PC anew.

Best regards.

Thanks for your feedback,
but after re-installling the problem still exists.
I have added 3 pictures:
one where you the menu of the video effects (all menu's are ok except the one with Text)
one where you find the Text menu : you can see that the text itself is gone
one where I added a Text template and added an image: black square, but the image remains black.

I'm afraid it has to do something with my Windows 7 installation, previously with XP it was all working.
(but all other programs are working with W7)

Greetings

Hello,

the problem still exists. I do not have a zebra effect in the Transitions, only in the text menu.

I have replaced the gdiplus.dll file in C:\Windows\SysWOW64\.

I have executed also:
Open Windows Start menu and select "Run...".
Type CMD and press Enter (or if you use Windows ME, type COMMAND)).
Type regsvr32 gdiplus.dll and press Enter.

But got the message: " the module "gdiplus.dll" was loaded but the entry-point DIIRegisterServer was not found. Make sure that "gdiplus.dll" is a valid DLL or OCX file and then try again. (see attachement)

I have also noticed that there are a number of gdiplus.dll files on my computer. (see attachement)

Greetings
Philippe.
