Hi, I sifted through the previous thread about "Abnormal Program Termination" and it quickly digressed off-topic about other issues. Confusing. Anyway I'm hoping to get this solved. I have been happily using AVS Video Editor for weeks without issue until suddenly today it won't open. "Abnormal Program Termination" appears as it begins to open. I've rebooted and still the same thing... What's the solution?

Hello,

To avoid the problem please completely uninstall AVS4YOU software from your PC. Instructions below:

1. Go Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Uninstall. Please make sure to click the "Check All" button.

2. Follow the link below and download the utility that will automatically remove all AVS software components from your PC. Save the utility on your computer and launch it. It is highly recommended to leave the default option "Delete license key-files" checked:
http://support.avs4you.com/GetFile.aspx?DocumentID=168498-647

3. Download the latest versions of the necessary programs from our website:
http://avs4you.com/downloads.aspx
Now install the software on your PC anew.

If it does not solve the issue please contact us again and specify your PC configuration.

Best regards.

Thank you - this did work, however I have a strong feeling that the uninstall/registry clean/reinstall steps are not necessary, because I followed the steps except this deleting the files here: C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor, and it did not make a difference. Still got the "abnormal program termination. I then deleted those files and voila - solved.Thank you very much and I hope my feedback helps you as well.

SIGH

Okay. Now, idk, maybe 12 hours later, when I try and "produce" a video, nothing happens. I click "produce", adjust my settings (and I've tried numerous frame rates, butrates, etc, that all USED to work fine).... and nothing happens. The program acts as if I've never clicked a thing and just sits there. Nothing. Please don't tell me I need to jump through fifty more hoops already. I did not sign up to uninstall/registryclean/reinstall every damn day - let alone twice a day. This is beyond frustrating

Hello,

Plese try to produce video using the default settings. If the issue remains please send us bug report for AVS Video Editor: unzip and save the attached files into the following folder:

C:\Program Files\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor

Then, run AVS Video Editor and when the problem appears wait until our error message pops up. Send us a bug report (through Send report option).

Best regards
