Hi, I have been using a registered video converter for a couple of weeks and converted several videos from DVDs to MP4 with success. All of a sudden two days ago I started receiving 'conversion successful' message immediately after beginning the conversion. No conversion actually happens. I select the video files, click "convert now", it starts counting the time expired, and a minute later pops up 'conversion successful'!

I read other posts on this blog and followed the instructions to completely uninstall the video converter, clean the registry, etc, and reinstall - same thing. I copied the files from the DVD to my hard drive and tried converting again - same thing.

I use Bit Defender 2010, and I read the posts that deal with Bit Defender 2012's latest update that conflicts with the video converter, so I disabled the anti-virus in Bit Defender - same thing.

What else can I try to get the converter working again? I've totally loved this program, and I own many DVDs that I was trying to convert to MP4 to watch on my iPad, and I still have quite a few to convert. Please help.

Thanks!

Hi There, I am have the same issue with AVS Video Conversion 8.1. Conversion on the .IFO files take less than a minute, with no resultant file. My environment is Win7 32-bit, using MS security Essentials. AVS Video Conversion 7.1 worked like a champ. Since I downloaded and installed 8.1, it has not worked. I uninstalled all AVS apps, removed AVS registry settings in HKLM and HKCU, and deleted AVS folders in C:\Progam Files, per reinstall instructions found on other forum posts. I have also tried using DVDFab and DVD43 with no success.

Please advise.

Hello,

Please provide more information:
- specify whether your DVD is copy protected
- specify whether the issue occurs with one file only
- specify whether you have Bit Defender
- attach a screenshot of your PC configuration: right-click My Computer, choose Properties, make a screenshot of the General tab

Best regards
