When I create large (over 3GB) m4v files from DVD's or mkv's, they do not play in VLC, media player, QuickTime, or anything for that matter. In VLC the file loads up but there is no picture or sound even though it reports the time progressing when it is played. It's the same behaviour in QuickTime. Windows media player won’t even load the file reporting “Windows Media Player encountered a problem while playing the file.”
I’ve successfully created many working m4v files from DVD’s and mkv’s but all their sizes are under 3GB.
Is there a setting or option that enables large file support or is there a limitation in AVS Video Convertor that does not support large file sizes?
I’m on Windows 7 64bit, using AVS Video convertor 8.1 but I did some investigation into issues around large m4v files and in the MAC software HandBreak there is a large file option which supposedly alleviates the old 32bit issue with 4GB+ file sizes, enforced by FAT32 file systems.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
