Seems 6.1 doesn't wanna let me edit text. (I just bought this version)

I get a gray screen in the edit window. I attempted to close and re-open the the program and it fixed it. I was able to edit one insert of text, then I got the same problem with the next insert I tried to edit. Tried to close and open again. NO GO!! WTF! ---Camracer

Hello,

Please give more details about the problem:

- do you get it with any text preset or with some certain.
- do you add text to video or image?
- when you open edit window - is it gray the whole or just the area where text must be? Could you please attach a screenshot of it?

To make a screenshot, please,

- press PrtScn to copy the screenshot to the clipboard;
- open a graphics editing program (e.g. Microsoft Paint, select Start\Run..., enter 'mspaint' and press OK to start it);
- press Ctrl+V to paste the screenshot from the clipboard;
- save the image in PNG format;
- attach the image file to your message.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best regards.

Hi Vlad, I'll post the issues tomorrow and give you a "screen shot". Thanks for making the detailed instructions, as I would not know how to do it! I'm a bit of an "old fart" when it comes to computer "stuff".

You a "guitar guy" too? Nice! ---Camracer *SUPER*

Hi Vlad, Ok answering your questions:

I get the "gray" edit window with any text preset

I am adding text to images (I'm making a slide-show)

When I open the edit window it is gray in the area where the text must be only

Also, another issue happened today, As I opened my project for the first time today, text editing was working but I could not play/start the slide show to review it. So I closed the AVS program and re-opened it. I could then review my project, but now, again, I cannot edit text....!! And now When I try to edit video effects I get that gray window in that as well, but I am able to use the editing controls (I just can't see what I'm doing) This AVS 6.1 version has some REAL bugs in it!!

Here's a screen shot in the text edit (same situation in the effects edit):

I just noticed another "hiccup" in the program. I can either edit text OR play my project, not both. I found something curious. If I switch to another project, then switch back to the problem project, the problem will REVERSE itself! I.E. I can edit text but not play my project. If I switch projects again, the problem reverses itself again.....I can play but can't edit!......Weird! ---Camracer

Unfortunately, there is no option to edit posts.

Thank you for the screenshot and for the details.

To solve the problem please install the latest DirectX on your computer, here is the link.

Please inform about the results.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

If you get a notification to update DivX, try also updating video codecs on your computer. Install k-lite codec pack for it, which can be downloaded here.

Regards.
