Greetings,

I sent a support request December 4, 2011 but no response yet. So I thought I would post my problem here. below is a cut and paste of the request that I submitted to support:

Hello,

I am having trouble creating a DVD with the video editor. Below in some basic system information;

OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium
Version 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601
System Manufacturer Hewlett-Packard
System Model h8-1070t
System Type x64-based PC
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 3401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date AMI 7.08, 7/6/2011
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 12.0 GB
Total Physical Memory 12.0 GB
Available Physical Memory 9.29 GB
Total Virtual Memory 24.0 GB

Creating a DVD *****see attached screen shots*****.

I get the following error, (again the error is in the screen shot named "Display erreor.png). After the error message the sytem completely shuts down. The only way I have been able to recover from this error is to power down the system and restart. I have the lastest Nvidia driver according to their web site.

I have also attached a filtered version of the windows system and application logs. They are filtered for events that occurred within the previous 1 hour.

Can you help me identify the problem?

Thank you,
Arnold

Hello,

Thank you for the full description of the problem and for the details.

Could you please also specify the format, size and origin of source files for your project in AVS Video Editor?

Best regards.

Similar situation here (Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate). What I'm doing to work-around the blue screen crashes (converting 30GB DV to MPEG/AVI) is I periodically Pause the conversion, listen for the CPU fans to cool down a bit (less than 30 secs), then let it continue.

This worked for also for rendering to DVD-DL format, which was also unable to complete without blue screening (usually after about 40-70 mins of rendering), but when paused at about 45 mins, it continues successfully to the end of the files.

A little annoying to have to do, but it works.

To avoid CPU overheating you may select Below Normal conversion prority - in AVS Video Editor>Edit>Settings>Processing>Conversion>Priority. Also, if you have Intel CPU, try disabling Intel media codec in the same Processing settings.

Regards.
