I looks like AVS 6.x had the ability to convert HD DVDs to some form of usable output. I have 7.1 and 8.1 and it appears that the option is no longer available. Is this correct, and/or does anyone know of a work around. I have a HD DVD drive and a ton of HD DVD movies that I would love to convert.

Looking forward to any direction.

Thanks.

Hello,

Actually, that may be misleading advertisement on some websites. HD DVD files have never been supported by AVS Video Converter. We are sorry if it may be of any inconvenience.

Best regards.

Thanks for the response Vlad. I have found a work around, and it's a lengthy process but it works. It is surprising to me that this was never handled by the industry, I can't image the HD DVD industry getting too bend out of shape about converting their format. Additionally, it looks like none of the "media players" will play the movies either. I can get VLC to play a file but not the movie, another oddity.

In any event, thanks for the info.

HD DVD format has been discontinued in 2008 and HD DVD players and discs are no longer manufactured. That is why it is not suporrted by most media software.

Have you found a work around in our software?

Regards.
