We are using the AVS4You Video Converter to convert our church's DVDs to wmv files. But the volume is noticably lower on the converted wmv files than it is on the DVDs when playing the file vs the DVD on the same computer.

In otherwords, after conversion, with the volume all the way up on the converted file, the sound is still quite low.
But if we have the volume all the way up on the DVD that the file was taken from, it is too loud to listen to it on the same computer without turning it down.

We are using the pre-set format in the AVS4You Video Converter "Windows Media 9 Standard Quality".
The DVDs are not rights protected, so there is nothing like that getting in the way.

We are using AVS Video Converter 6.3.3.371.
My method is just to put the DVD in the DVD player and use the DVD as the source of the file, then do the conversion straight to the pre-set WMV format.

Are their settings I should change on the pre-set format to increase the volume?

Please do not suggest we upgrade to a new AVS4You converter. We tried that and could never get the new version (8.x) to run. We even did all the steps that support suggested about removing the old version, including using the clean up tool, and still could never get the new version to run. Had to do a complete system revert and a reinstall from the copy I had previously just to get this version to run.

In case it is needed, here are the machine specs:
Conversion system is a Dell Precision 6300
4MB RAM
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T9300 @ 2.50GHz

Thanks!

Hello,

Seems that it is the problem reading sound from certain DVD's in AVS Video Converter. To avoid it please apply audio effect Amplify to audio track of your DVD in Edit option of AVS Video Converter. Please use the details in this post.

Best regards.
