When I convert a file from any format to AVI the conversion takes 2X times the length of the original source material. The system goes to 100% CPU utilization so I cannot do any other work during the conversion.

My system is an Intel 990 Extreme with 6 processors (3.46GH) and 12 threads. The source file is on solid state disk and the destination is also on solid state disk. The system contains 12GB memory.

Converting to other formats besides AVI seems reasonalble and uses very little CPU time. Using the H64 AVI codec runs well also but that codec is not supported on all DVD players. Onely one of mine supports it so it is usless to me.

I have submitted a support request form 3 times in the past week without any reply. Can anyone help on this.
