My current laptop (Core 2 Duo 2,4 GHz, Mobility Radeon HD 4300, 4Go RAM) gets really slow when I use many features at the same time with AVS Video Editor Whenever I insert videos or use some of the more complex transitions and effects, the preview screen goes very jerky. I could use the 'low detail' feature, but details are then much too low for my liking. I do not use cache memory to store my HD files because the files are too big and the editor ends up crashing on me.

I am about to buy a new laptop. What is the minimum configuration so AVS Video Editor will run smoothly *all the time*? The videos I work with are 1080p m2ts files.

Thanks for the info!
David

PS : I have a really good offer for an ASUS laptop with Intel Core i5-2410M / NVidia GT 540 1Go / 6Go RAM. Would Video Editor work much faster with such a configuration?

Hello,

In fact your current laptop is powerful enough to process m2ts files. To solve the issue please enable cache procedure and wait until all HD files are cached.

Best regards.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I'm not sure all my HD files can be cached at any one time. I remember the program simply crashing when too many files were cached.

Oh well. I'll try again, I guess.
