Hi,

I'm having LOTS of trouble with Adding Text to my video. Actually, ADDING a Text Box is easy but editing the darned thing is terribly difficult.

I've got the latest update of the Video Editor 6.0.3.184.

The issue is that when I go to edit the text (regardless of whether it's the first Text Screen (the one that reads TEXT)) or any other form, when I double-click to Edit the words, the text splits in odd ways.

I'm including two pictures (1 - Before I click the text box and 2 - After I click the text box). Please note: I realize that the Text box shown in these pics are ones that I've chosen to ADD but the same issue occurs if I simply use the standard Text box that appears.

Also, the same problem exists with ANY and ALL of the templates that have editable characters.

I've both restarted and rebooted my machine to see if that corrected the situation. Obviously it did not. I've also turned off (temporarily) ALL Malware/Spyware software to no avail.

Help please!

Hello,

In order to solve the issue please try to set standard DPI - 96:right click on "My Computer">>Properties>>Settings>>Advanced and change the DPI settings. Please specify whether there is the same issue with other Font Types.

Best regards.

Nope, didn't work. I reset the DPI settings on my computer and while everything did get 'smaller' the text problem remains. I've tried over 25 different fonts thus far (from standard Arial and Times New Roman) to non-standard -- everything reacts the same way. The text splits and it's impossible to actually correct anything 'on the fly.' Instead, I have to place my mouse by the word I want to edit and then guess how many character spaces I'll need to go backwards or forwards to make the correction.

Question: Is there ANY way I can go back to AVS Video Editor 5 (anything before 6) because I don't remember any problems such as the ones I've had with the later versions?

Thanks!

Dear Pastor Lonnie,

Unfortunately, we cannot reproduce the problem in AVS Video Editor 6.

To solve the problem, please try doing the following:

1. Open the folder C:\Users\[Your user name]\AppData\Roaming\AVS4YOU\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor\Profiles and move this folder to some backup directory. Please note that the folder AppData is hidden, so you should check "Show hidden files and folders" in My Computer>Organize>Search and Folder Options>View.
2. Uninstall AVS Video Editor 6 and check if the folder C:\Program Files\AVS4YOU\AVSVideoEditor has also been deleted.
3. Install the program anew and try editing text.

Please inform us about the results.

Best regards.

I will do as you asked as soon as possible... probably this evening.

In the meantime, I was wondering if there's anyway I can go back to AVS Video Editor 5x?

Vlad, I spoke too soon. The solution you gave me DID work for an already existing project I'd been working on... However, I'm experiencing the SAME issue with a NEW project.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
