I'm trying to convert video files to .mov format. I've tried both a wmv file and a avi file. In both cases, AVS tells me that it's "preparing data for conversion" (under advanced) but nothing happens. It's elapsed time right now is 26 minutes, but no progress bar... no overall progress, no remaining time given. My hard drive isn't even flashing. The only thing that's changing is the elapsed time counting up... What gives?

Which version of AVS Video Converter do you have?

Please reinstall using the instructions here and install the latest version AVS Video Converter 8.0.

Regards.

Followed all your instructions. No change. The program does not work. I'm uploading a screenshot to show you what I mean. I've let the elapsed time go for over an hour with nothing happening.

Hello,

I see you convert to MP4 format, not mov... Does you the same problem persist converting files to other formats, presets? Do you have this problem only with certain wmv and avi files, or with any files you have?

Could you please specify your PC configuration (Operatign System, CPU, Ram), would be great if you attach a screenshot - right click on MyComputer>Properties.

Regards.

To: Vlad, I'm including the properties screenshot you requested. The problem was occurring no matter what file I tried to import or what format I tried to convert to. Very frustrating. AVS DID work the first time I tried it, so what I've done is use system restore to roll my machine back to a date when I know it worked and the problem has been solved. AVS is working as advertised.

Not sure what the issue was, but it seems it was something on my system.

Thanks for the help.
