Hello. I've noticed that when I open files in AVS Video Editor (say 6G files) it takes awhile. Every time.
AviDemux has a feature of "indexing" files once, then they open quickly after that. Perhaps something like that could work here. I know I would benefit from it :)

Sorry for the late response and thank you for the suggestion.

Actually, there is caching option for "heavy" HD files, which allows to cache such files to lower quality and size and work with them faster. You should set Permanent Cache in Edit>Settings>Environment and once you imported files into AVS Video Editor it will be opened faster next time.
