Hi my name is Frank,
I'm a new owner of AVS4you
I loaded an MP4 video to AVS4editor from my computer video file, and the playback is jerky. The video file is MP4 @ 780p 60fps HD

My computer is

windows XP
Professional
version 2002
service pack 3

Intel(R)
Pentium(R)
4CPU 3.00Hz
2.99GHz, 1.99 GB of RAM

my question is what am I missing and how can I resolve this jerky play back issue? Thanks Frank

Hello Frank,

Please make sure you have the latest version AVS Video Editor 5.2. Videos are cached in it to avoid jerkey playback. Also, I would see your computer is not powerfull enough to handle HD video. It is recommended to work with HD video files on multi-core processors with at least 4 GB RAM.

Best regards.

Hello Vlad,

I have the same problem as Frank although I have 8 GB RAM, 64 bits OS. My .vep file is about 600 MB containing A/V (mp3/mp4), video effects, transition, pictures.

Furthermore, I am using Video Editor the latest version 6.2 (I've got the link from Alexander).

Please advise.

Thanks.

Hello Roy,

Make sure temporary cache is chosen in the settings of AVS Video Editor (Edit >> Settings>> Environment >> Processing high definition files >> Temporary Cache).

To avoid jitter, you can change the Preview Quality to Low ( Edit >> Settings>> General >> Preview Quality >> Low (fastest)).

Please note, that if the problem appears only in the preview, this will not influence the quality of the output video. The preview in AVS Video Editor requires much system resources (more than a simple media player), so the problem might be caused by insufficient system resources.

Best regards

I to are having similar problems with the Preview in AVS Video Editor and Playback in AVS Media Player. When I play the file in AVS it is jerky; when I play the file in "Windows Media Player" it is smooth.

Is there a cache or codec problem?

Thanks for any advice.

Hello

I am having the same problems - and have adjusted temp cache as suggested. In addition the program hangs for literally minutes after every operation ( e.g cutting and delete a section of video).

My system is :
Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600)
2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
256 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
Bus Clock: 201 megahertz
2TB Hard Drive
2Gb RAM

I suspect my system is just not powerful enough for AVS 6.2 - can I get a refund ?

Have posted to the help box but after a week no respoonse - v poor customer service

I've got the same problem. I've sent more detailed messages to your online support two days ago about it.

Thank you.
