Hello, please help

Following the instructions in "How to convert video with subtitles?" (http://www.avs4you.com/guides/convert-video-subtitles.aspx), I created a DVD from an AVI file and one subtitle SRT file (in NL) with the same file name.
The subtitle is not working. When I use the subtitle button of my DVD player, I only get "ENG 1/1", but there is no English subtitle included and the NL subtitle can't be chosen.

When I create an AVI file instead of a DVD, the NL subtitle is shown in the result as expected. So, this is OK.
I use AVS Video Converter v7.1.

My question is: what's wrong and how can I get it working.

Any help is appreciated.
Regards, Arman

Hello Arman,

What exactly shows ENG1/1 - the same as in the nl subtitle, or something different?

Regards.

Hi Vlad,

My dvd player shows "ENG 1/1" as the only subtitle option when I press the subtitle key. When more subtitles are available on a DVD, it shows e.g. "FR 1/2" and "NL 2/2" as options.

Hello,

The problem is that AVS Video Converter give the name English as default for subtitle track, when you convert with srt subtitles. If you select play this DVD with ENG 1/1 subtitle track it will actually show NL subtitles. We apologize for the inconvenience caused!

Regards.

Hi Vlad, thanks for the answer. Perhaps this is a good idea for the next version of the video converter: to avoid confusion, make the default name for the subtitle track "XXX" or "???".
