Here's the problem.

i have lots of m2ts files from my bluray discs.

When i convert them to e.g. wmv, Mpeg... everything is okay.

Do i convert them to mp4 (that's what i need) doesn't matter which settings, the file can not be played by any
player (Windows Mediaplayer, VLC, GOM-Player, Nero Showtime, etc. ) as soon as the file reaches or exceeds 4GB.

When i cancel the conversation before these 4 GB are reached the file playes fine.

I am using windows 7 64bit with NTFS so there is no filesize limitation by OS... i know there is but my video files won't reach 16TB

The strange thing is, that this behaviour only occurs when converting to Mp4...

Does anyone know what to do ? I'm using VideoConverter 7.1.2.480

I've experienced the same problem and have not had any success in having it fixed. Haven't gotten a good answer as to it being an MP4 limitation or a problem with video conversion. My workaround is to adjust the bitrate so that the file size falls below 4gb. Not ideal but it's better than one that isn't playable.

Unfortunately, the issue persists while working with mov and mp4 files.
The size limit has been set up for the stability purpose, please try using the solution suggested by ikak

Just a further comment, unfortunately the conversion completes without any errors which would lead one to believe that all is good. It's only during playback that I run into problems. Windows media player hangs trying to play the file and my PS3 says the file is corrupted. If there is a limit it would be much more user friendly to either state it in the user manual or produce a message at time of conversion that indicates the problem.

this limitation is quite a deal-breaker for those looking to encode a consistent quality H.264 movie library. the software indicated estimated file size incorrectly by several orders of magnitude as well. when encoding very long movies (3+ hrs), the bitrate must be compromized by almost 1000kbps from what i normally use for my blu-rays (3500kbps), in order to keep the file size below 4GB and be able to play the file on my PC.

i also do not see any warning messages added to the software that will alert the user that such is the case. i suspect that if there were messages such as this, then users would likely reconsider buying this converter after trying out the free version. in the case users have paid for this software and later encounter this issue as well as the TrueHD issue, they feel compelled to ask for a refund or ask that the limitations are fixed, but niether happens.

as a result you will find your software readily available for use via torrents, without having to pay for it. so as people shop around for blu-ray encoding software, let them stumble upon this thread and hear about the things you might expect that are not mentioned on your site concerning software features and capabilities.

i don't think so. i used Ripbot 264 and BD-Rebuilder on multiple BD's so far, each with different Audio/Video Codecs. i have created 3 movies @ 4 Mbps bitrates that are over the 4GB mark and these movies playback fine both in VLC and WMP ...

as you can see, the video stream is more than 4GB in size.

Some other programs modificate file structure. We don't do it.
