Is there a straightforward procedure for chopping a 30+ minute file into YouTube acceptable chunks?

I have already inserted chapter marks for the DVD (If that helps)

Hello,

You can convert videos to special youtube preset in AVS Video Converter and use split feature to get several clips from 30 minute video.

Best regards.

Thanks Vlad.

I read the support material and I'm still a bit confused, by the input file (sounds basic, no?).

Here's what I've done so far on this project.

1) Brought into AVS editor an .mpg file( Originally created in iMovie v4 and saved to a video camera tape)
2) edited this file, trimmed some parts, added still frame shots. generating a.vep file and a final version of the project
3) created a dvd with menu and chapters.

Now I would like to create 4 youtube clips.

Looking at the list of input types for Video Converter...

Should my next step be to create a new .mpg from the final ? Then divide into clips etc, etc in video Converter?

You should save your vep project file as video file using Produce option in AVS Video Editor. Then you will be able to convert your video to youtube clips. Or you can even save to AVI>Youtube profile in AVS Video Editor and then just split it into 4 parts with AVS Video ReMaker which allows to do the job without re-encoding.

Regards.
