I'm very new to creating DVDs and have been using Video Converted and Video Editor. I captured a streaming video as several .avi files and imported one of them to AVS Video Editor and trimmed out several minutes at the end of the file. I saved the trimmed .avi file and imported all the files into AVS Video Converter. I want to create a menu and one chapters. I proceded and then converted to results to DVD format and burn to disk.

The DVD plays on my computer as intended, starting with the menu. However, when I play the DVD on my Sony DVD player, the video plays without the menu which appears at the end.

Any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong?

Seems that your Sony DVD player is set to start playing DVD disc without menu, please check DVD player settings.

I hope it helps.

DVD player starts commercial DVD with the menu coming up first, sometimes preceeded by trailers, etc. With a DVD produced with Video Converter, DVD doesn't start automatically, (which is not a problem), but when it's started manually, the DVD plays through to the end and then the menu comes up. If the Start menu button is pressed, the DVD starts over from the beginning.

Is the menu accessiable from top menu button on the remote at the beginning of the movie? Seems that player plays movie till the end and then returns back to the beginning...

Could you please also specify the exact model of your Sony DVD player?

Regards.

Sony DVD Recorder is model RDR-GX330. After DVD is loaded you can hit 'Play' on the remote to start the clip. Hitting 'Top Menu' or 'Menu' on the remote after playing starts brings up the menu I placed on the disc. Playing pauses until 'Enter' on remote is hit. I would like to find a way to place the menu at the start of the clip or at some arbitrary point in the clip.

Hello,

Once I finished my movie, I produced it with Disc Menu Enabled and it worked great. I went back in to make a few changes (re-did some text, added an image and such). I Saved As under a new name and Produced to DVD again. This time and the three times since the Disc Menu does not appear. The DVD or file (I've produced to both) start at the beginning and roll through, no chapters no nothing of the menu.

I'm hoping for a magic button to press to enable to menu to work/appear on the finished DVD. What do I need to do?

Best,
Hillary

Hello Hillary,

Is the menu avaliable when you press menu button on your remote or at the end of the movie? We need to know what exact edits you did compared with the first succesfull DVD. This will allow you to assist me further.

Best regards.

Having the same issue. The menu doesn't appear - the movie just begins on the first chapter.

If I press the menu button the menu will appear. I noticed the PLAY item is highlighted. I assume this is why the movie just starts playing.

Need to have the ability to have the menu show without the movie just playing.
