I am trying to convert som Windows DVR-MS files to H264 AVI files.
If i output to MPEG the aspect is just fine, but when I output to AVI I get black borders on all sides.

I have attached a image showing Input to the left and output to the right.

How do i get the correct aspect ratio on avi output?

Hello,

MPEG format can have standard 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio. As for avi format, actually there is no aspect in this format, you can only set proper resolution for output or correct input file aspect in AVS Video Converter>Advanced>Aspect Correction tab (I suppose you should set 16:9 aspect).

I hope it helps.

Best regards.

Hi Vlad

I'm using AVS Video Editor as I need to cut out commercials etc. AVS Video Editor doesn't have a coorection tab (or at least I can't find it)

You can set desirable aspect for your project in AVS Video Editor, see the details here.
