I have downloaded AVS Video Editor 4.2 to create an AMV, and it was working wonderfully, however I have one problem. Sometimes while I am playing my video to check and see if the scenes match the music, some of the clips pause for a brief moment before transitioning to the next, which causes an annoying break in the video. I have not done anything fancy with these clips, such as transitions or adjusting the speed. The videos are from the same episode, so they are different files. The format for the video is AVI. Please let me know what causes this break in between clips so that I can finish my AMV. Let me know if you need any additional information.

Try starting a new project and adding two of your clips onto the timeline, then preview them. Do you notice the same break between the clips? If yes, try using a third-party player, ex. WMP, and add these two clips to the playlist, then try to play them one after another. Is there the same break?

Could you describe it in more detail, as the information you have provided to our support managers seems to correspond to a compltely different issue (crash when converting files in AVS Video Editor).

Dear user,

Please provide some additional information about the issue so we could assists you:

- specify the format and origin of the files used,
- specify if the files can be played without any problems while alone (separately from the others),
- if you get the same pauses on the output, if so what format and profile you use to save the video to,

Thank you for the information.

Kind regards

I have been using Avs video editor for several years but since last year I have had the same problem (even with version 9.4.5.377).
If I put a transition between the videos the problem is not seen.
The input videos are taken from iphone xs 1080p HD at 60 fps to get a full HD (MPEG-2 15000 kbps, 1920x1080, 29.97 fps) video file.

Attached the characteristics of the file taken from the iphone and passed on the Win10 pc.

Please correct the anomaly now, thank you.

Hello Riccardo,

Please open Edit > Settings > Acceleration and try to create the file using different types of decoders: Auto, Software, Hardware, Disabled. Every time you change a decoder you need to reopen the program.

Best regards,

Hello Andrew.
Thanks for the reply.
I set the parameter to "disabled" and video editing no longer has the defect.
Best regards.
