Hello,

I am new to AVS media software. Up to now, I just used the remaker for cutting dvbt-recordings (*.wtv) files. Later on I probably will burn them to dvd.
The Remaker is very handy to use and i like it very much, but for me the speed is very low. Working on a 2.5 gB File with 4 cuts, it needs more than 30 minutes to create the mpg output. I was observing the machine and the cpu usage never went over 3% and the disks also were not in use very much.
My machine is a pentium core 2 duo E7400 (2*2.8Ghz) with 4 GB ram.
Before buying the remaker, i sed to cut the dvbt-recordings with cuttermaran.exe wich required only 3 minutes for writing a similar file. So I thing there must be something wrong.
Now my question is: do have to change something, are there any settings wich I may have forgotten ? Or what can I do to speed it up ?

Thank you in advance

Are you sure you have edited .wtv files? The fact is, this format is not supported by our software currently, so that's quite strange...

Could you attach a screenshot of the program interface showing properties of the files imported.

Using the Win7 Right-Click I converted the .wtv to .dvr-ms before using the remaker :-)
Attached you will find the screenshot. Not sure, if this is the information you requested.
Also I noticed a diffrence between audio and video - this diffrence increases with running time.

We have done some testing and it usually takes less than 5 mins to remake a 2.5 Gb dvr-ms file. Therefore could you please check the version of AVSWMVFile3.dll which is saved on your PC - it might be out-of-date. Follow to C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX, right-click AVSWMVFile3.dll and check its version in Properties.

Have you noticed desync problems? At which moment, i.e. when you preview the file in AVS Video ReMaker or when you play the output MPEG video? If you play the original dvr-ms video in a player on your PC, is it played fine?

Hope to hear from you soon

Hello,
1) the version of avsamFile3.dll is 1.0.1.10 - Size is 123 KB (Screenshot enclosed)
2) playing the original dvr-ms file there is NO desync.
3) After cutting and converting it to mpg with mp2 audio, there is more than a second desync at the end of the file.
4) I keep the dvr-ms and the created mpge files (1,3 GB each ) if you need them for testing
Merry Christmas and a happy new year

We need to know the version of AVSWMVFile3.dll, not AVSAMVFile3.dll, the WMV program component is responsible for dvr-ms files.

If you could send us the originla dvr-ms file for testing, that would help us a lot.
I'll send you the instruction via the support service.

Nadin,
I did the requested upload. The file is named: peter_c_for_nadin.dvr_ms
To reproduce the 2 Problems with this file:

1) open it in remaker
2) set output to mpeg video and mp2 audio
3) process the file

Problem one: processing this file (1.3 G) requires 22:18 minutes
Problem two: the resulting mpg file is not in sync
System: WIN7HP Intel Core2duo (2x2.8 Ghz) E7400, 4GBRAM

Thank you

Peter

Nadin, I could get an adittional information about the desync problem. You can see the desync already in the remaker, after opening the file. Looks, like the desync grows with the length of the recording.

We have done some testing on your file and the remaking process has taken about 5 mins. So please make sure you are using the latest version of AVS Video ReMaker.

Also please unzip and save the .dll attached in order to avoid the desync problem to C:\Program Files\Common Files\AVSMedia\ActiveX
If you are asked whether you would like to overwrite the existing .dll, click on Yes.

Then run the Repair utility in order to register the .dll:
1. Close AVS Video Converter and all other running programs and applications.
2. Next follow Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Repair.

We hope this solution will be useful. Please inform us about the result.

Hello Nadin,
thanks for the fix, it works good.
Reagrding the speed issue, i observerd, that the cpu-usage is below 3% all the time.
What can I do to speed up. What kind of information do you need to solve this problem.
Did you use WIN7 home premium for yor speed test ?
thank you

Nadin, after the desync-solutuion (thanks!) another problem occurrs:
scenario:
1) add 2 dvr-ms files to the remaker
2) cut and remove a little piece at the beginning of the first file
3) cut and remove a big piece from at the end of the second file
4) process (to mpeg with MP2)

remaker runs (after 20 minutes it breaks with the message "remaker cannot be executed" (translated from german erorr message)
looking on the produced mpeg, it shows only the part of the first file

also the run time remains very slow

Hello Nadin,
excuse my late answer, but I was very busy last week.

Attached, you will find the screenshots you requested.
You can see the start of the processing (vr1.png) and
a second shot (vr2.png) after 25 Minutes (have a look on the clock at the
upper right corner). Shortly after that, the error occures as shown
in the screenshots vr3.png, vr4.png and vr5.png.

Hope you can help me. I really like the remaker because:
1) it allows cutting and burning my dvb-t recordings in full quality without reencoding
2) very handy user interface
I miss the option to write iso images instead of burning
Also I think there might be a problem with w7, because the remaker is very slow (!).
The file sizes of the above example are: 1.3 GB and 2.1 GB the result ist 970MB after the error occurs.

Thank you
Peter

As far as we understand, the error occurs when you try to remake two other dvr-ms files (not the one which you sent us before). So, in order to analyse the problem, we'd need these two files for testing, if possible. Please could you send them to us.

As for the file that we got from you, does it still take a long time to remake this file, or is the program slow during remake of the new files that are shown in your screenshots?

Hope to hear from you soon

Hello Nadin,
the file you already got from me still takes a very long time (>20 Minutes) for remaking.
I will try to send you the 2 files you requeeted. They are really big, so I will try to reproduce
the problem with 2 smaller files.
Should I use the ftp login wich you gave me for the first file ?
Best Regards
